BALANCE treatment concept
The Balance treatment concept is an innovative orthodontic therapy that we first defined in 1995. In an interdisciplinary approach, it combines the comprehensive expertise of dentistry and orthodontics with the findings of orthopaedics, general medicine and proven complementary healing methods such as applied kinesiology (AK), acupuncture, homeopathy and chiropractic. The aim of this comprehensive therapy is not just to eliminate symptoms, but to promote robust health and maximum physical performance. This means that the body’s functional systems are resistant to external influences that are often difficult to change.

FAQ: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions about our orthodontic treatments
The Balance treatment concept is a holistic orthodontic procedure based on over 30 years of experience that combines modern orthodontic treatments with knowledge from orthopaedics, applied kinesiology (AK), general medicine, chiropractic and other complementary healing methods. The aim of our treatment method is to achieve a harmonious interaction of teeth, jaw and muscles, not only to achieve freedom from symptoms, but also to achieve a positive interaction with other parts of the body, especially the nervous system, in order to treat symptoms such as chronic headaches, disorders of the temporomandibular joint function, complaints of the back and the musculoskeletal system. Due to our above-average proportion of adult patients, our practice specializes in both fixed and removable invisible treatment methods. In order to offer an aesthetically optimized solution for as many patients as possible with different wishes and requirements, but also depending on the treatment task, we have the possibility to offer a completely invisible treatment with brackets attached to the inside of the teeth, which already offers patients an improvement in their aesthetics during the ongoing treatment, as the treatment is completely invisible and largely independent on the inside of the teeth. Nowadays, modern orthodontic aligners offer the possibility of solving many treatment tasks that were previously only possible with fixed methods, including more complex treatment tasks, in a removable and almost invisible way. Transparent aligner pairs are produced that are barely visible. The teeth are gradually corrected with the individually manufactured splints, which are replaced every 10 – 14 days. They can be removed for eating and cleaning. See here: Lingual technique and Invisalign and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yap2SWabgIc&t=70s
Yes, in some cases we use digital 3D X-rays (DVT) for a gentle and detailed diagnosis. This low-radiation procedure offers advantages for long-term treatment success, as the high-resolution and precise CBCT images provide us with accurate and clear information about your oral and maxillofacial region, allowing us to create an optimized and individual treatment plan. Orthodontic treatment for adults usually takes between 6 and 18 months, but of course depends on the individual findings. The average duration of treatment for children is between two and three years and is carried out in several phases and, if necessary, with different orthodontic appliances in order to activate a growth-oriented and gentle correction of the malocclusion. Do you also treat CMD – craniomandibular dysfunction – in your orthodontic practice in Hanover? Yes, the diagnosis and treatment of CMD is one of the main focuses of our practice.
